A large analysis of 37 studies covering 7,520 individuals concluded that 'partnered women' were slightly more sexually satisfied than partnered men. Women rated their enjoyment of sex and their satisfaction with their sex life more highly than men, while men reported greater sexual arousal and greater sexual inhibition.
Great. Then they blew it when they tried to explain why women are more satisfied.
"One possible explanation for the results is that men, on average, value sexual novelty more than women do."
Yesterday I saw a study that found in partnered relationships men do most of the seeking of sex, and women say no more often than yes. Most women are having all the sex they want. Most men are not. No one thought that might influence satisfaction?
I know some women are having more sex than they want, but unless the guy is unreasonable about what he expects when that happens, it's far less distressing than being told no more than half the time.
