I just saw this article this morning. One sentence stood out to me, “Testosterone is key in how the body initiates and regulates various immune responses, including fighting viral infections.”

Yep, hormone balance isn't just about sex.
God can change what people do, behavioral patterns that have been in play for decades. He can change what we do to cope, to find comfort, to survive conflict, to count. Rahab had done a same old thing for years... and then she did something new.

This research does not surprise me, and I had thought this might be a possibility based on my own limited research into testosterone over the years, as well as my own personal experience with T replacement therapy.

I would imagine small amounts of testosterone are involved in this, otherwise women would be sick a lot more than men.

@MrMarried, not necessarily, as there are physiological differences between men and women and it's possible that female hormones could play a similar role in the female immune system.
Having said that, I'm not surprised that testosterone has some role in regulating immune response.

I started T replacement for other reasons than sex. I am very active (gym rat) for a man my age, and both my GP Doctor and the Hormone Specialist that administers the treatment recommended it because of my heavy exercise routine.
The sex benefits were both serendipitous and, frankly, a nice surprise.
But, now that that's 2020 in the rear view mirror, I wouldn't want to have to do without them, because the increased T along with the DW's HRT with its increased Estrogen (and, yes, ladies, some T) has opened up our sex life in ways that I formerly used to just dream about.
Talk about.....

Studies show that proper T levels in men and women reduce Covid symptoms. ExcelMale has a couple of posts about it.
DW and I both had Covid and our symptoms were very mild. The worst part was the quarantine. We've been doing TRT and HRT for a few years.
Healthy hormone levels have to translate into a healthier life.

I wonder if this is one of those “missing links” between otherwise seemingly healthy men getting hammered by COVID while some that you would think should struggle just don’t? I don’t think it is a random thing. Viruses are way too specialized to act this random.

Low T is also age related. No doubt that older males with lower Tare having worse symptoms than younger men with higher T levels.
