There was a small study doen that shows it even slows down or helps prevent dementia.
I have some dementia in my gene pool. I am taking a 25mg dose once a week even if I don't use it for sex.

I hope you’ve changed your mind about the “daily” part. Maybe that was just hyperbole. I do agree than most men mb at least on occasion, but I would hesitate to say “all do daily.” I certainly don’t, nor do the men I intimately know enough to talk to about it. I’ve gone over a year without my before. Commonly go weeks or months at a stretch.

Certainly a bit of overstatement. I think the study showed men thought about sex every 11 seconds. As teens they may be active daily. But I think it is healthy and agood thing. Masturbation is only a negative if it prevents him from wanting to be wiht his wife. But most of the time masturbating creates more desire. When it comes to sex all people tend to underplay their desire and what creates it. Often answering in what we think others want to hear. I would be much more concerned over a man not doing it for a year than one that did it daily unless he was having a lot of sex with his wife. Not to mention the medical benefits to his prostate.
Blessed to have a second chance. Say hi and share your knowledge.

IntimateMoment wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 5:20 am As a mother and wife I am not at all surprised at the level of MBing males participate in. I am shocked that some men deny they do it all. I always thought there were two kinds of males, those that admit they masterbated daily and those that refuse to admit it.
The old joke (1970s) was that 95% of guys admitted to masturbating and 5% were liars. However, having been thru classes in statistics, I think the numbers were not that far off, and that there were not nearly as many liars as said. If you look at Testosterone levels across the young male population, it fits the bell curve rather nicely, with 96% being the 2 sigma point at the low end. So that last 4 percent of guys barely have enough T to do much of anything. It would not surprise me they do not masturbate.

In highschool I had a long talk (bunch of them really) with my cousin who was one year older. We camped and hiked a lot together. We had one particular talk about masturbating. We both did it but our experiences were vastly different. I needed to do it daily, and always dry. He did it once or twice a month and had to get super lubed up before even trying.
Then their are the "sin hunters" that attempt to see sin in any sexual act. I suppose that almost all Christians now accept MBing as acceptable instead of the once main belief that any sex that does not have the possibility of procreation is a sin.
Only if you do not count the Catholics and Orthodox as Christians. Both are adamant about M being a mortal sin. (bad enough to send you straight to hell) Plus, there are scores of fundamentalists that also hold M as very sinful.

Yes, a very good thing IMO.
But most of the time masturbating creates more desire.
IMO that varies from person to person; and certainly between male and female.
Men have to have a refractory period after ejaculating to fill the reservoir back up. That can take several hours. So on guys at least it lowers the desire, at least for a while.

The most current research I have read (from Harvard Medical) said the breakoff point for men in their 20s-30s is 21 ejaculations per month to avoid prostate cancer in their 50s and 60s.

I have not heard what the minimum number is to avoid prostatic hyperplasia, or enlarging of the prostate.

In high school us boys had a chat discussing our habits. The boy with lowest drive said he did it every few weeks. (I saw him about 10 years ago, in his mid-forties, he was married with kids. So he must have had some sex drive. :))
On average us boys probably averaged about every second day.

I'm reading this on the 18th. I wonder if some men are reading this and saying "21! It's the 18th! That's only 13 days left, and I've still need 16 ejaculations before the end of the month!" Some of the guys reading this on the 30th may have a hard time of it.

Most of the time masturbating does seem to create more desire but it doesn't improve my performance. I find it seems to stimulate the hormones that cause a firm erection but reduces the urgency because the amount of ejaculate is less.

Hey there.

Married man here. I masturbate every day and it makes me more aroused to want to have sex too. My wife also masturbates daily.
