Age 22 for first child and 33 for the 5th child. Hubby was 30 for the first child. First child was a honeymoon baby. Can’t change it now. The idea that we can now spend time together having had them relatively young with not to small and not too big age gaps is lovely but the last is special needs. We need to work out other ways to spend the well deserved for alone time that we have waited for!

I was 30 with our oldest and 37 for our youngest. My most recent OB was very concerned about my health but thehigh risk OB often joked I was his healthiest patient. Both pregnancies and deliveries were pretty smooth, except for diet-controlled gestational diabetes.

We were married later in life, so our daughter was born a month after our third anniversary.

I'm grateful to have life experience helping me parent. My mom was 41 when I was born (I'm adopted), so I'm constantly in awe of how draining it must have been to be a parent. Thankfully, they're still alive today and are in decent health.

We always advise that when we do premarital. And we've seen problems from folks who don't do it. But my son and DIL got pregnant less than a month into their marriage, intentionally. And they have done just fine.
Happily married for 41 years and living the good life near two of our grandsons!

One of my sons did that also. He married a gal who had two kids and they had one 13 months after the wedding. He was 26 and she was 23. Since she already had kids they never had a "couple years" and he dove into the deep end. They seem very happy together and he loves all those kids with his whole being.
