Burning sensation after ejaculation

Post by SLS »

I have noticed a burning sensation in my urethra during my last few ejaculations. I only feel it during and after ejaculation. Everything is fine when I masturbate (as long as I don't ejaculate) or urinate.

I am making a doctor's appointment Monday but I figured I would query the brain trust here to see if y'all have dealt with anything similar.

Haven’t dealt with it to provide any anecdotal insight. Glad you are heading to see your Dr.

Did not Elvis sing about burning love? Sorry to joke about a serious issue. I hope the doctor helps you and that is nothing seirous.
Blessed to have a second chance. Say hi and share your knowledge.

The only time I've experienced a burning sensation was when I had an active prostate infection. Prostatic fluid is alkaline, and it gets more alkaline during an infection. Your doctor appointment will hopefully give you a diagnosis.

If the doctor does suspect a prostate infection, then the standard treatment ~20 years ago was 3 weeks of Cipro. I thought that it was interesting that the treatment for anthrax (after the 9/11 letters with anthrax) was only 2 weeks of Cipro. It's supposedly difficult for the antibiotic to reach the infected pockets inside the prostate. With my infection, the prostate itself was very tender. After a while with mediocre improvement with the Cipro, I tried some prostate massage which seemed much more effective than the Cipro, though they probably helped each other. However, the initial prostate massage caused a SIGNIFICANT burning sensation with the next ejaculation. However, the improvement in prostate discomfort was dramatically better the next day. I have a family history of prostate infections. I'll do some prostate massage periodically if I experience any initial symptoms of discomfort and it always works to clear it up.

At times I have experienced a slight burning sensation. I kind of assumed that it was due to being squeezed tightly due to DW having a tight V.

Yeah - I have had that off and on (more on) for several years. Not sure when I first noticed it, but it was during a hand job a few days after PIV sex. Normal build up but when i got to the happy ending, it felt like i was squirting out boiling water. It slowly went away over the next couple of months. THen we had PIV again (dw is NOT a fan) and it was back. That cycle went on a year or 2 more. Then I started having prostate problems. Went on Finesteride, Flowmax and RapiFlo. Sometimes the pain at orgasm and other times not. Those meds suppress semen production which means no ejac whatsoever. PERIOD.

The pain got decoupled from the PIV, but when the meds kicked in so did ED and PIV was not possible. Its been hand jobs ever since. 2 years ago I had prostate surgery which got me off the meds, but I was on long enough that the semen production seems to be permanently gone. THat is a bummer since most of my peak O feelings were from semen stimulating the Fenulum nerves from the inside. The pain has decreased over the last 2 years, and is less when she does me as opposed to my own efforts. (maybe I grip too hard?)

Yes. Talk to the doc. I did to mine. Said it might be an infection, and they ran tests on both me and DW, no infections or anything (glad for that) but he was not able to help beyond that.

LOL!!! I knew a couple of the guys on that song. JD on the vocal bass and his nephew Don Sumner I had as a music theory teacher. Met Ed Enoch who sings the really high stuff at the end, going back and forth with the King himself.

Yeah, sometimes laughter is the best medicine. I hope and pray the doctors can find your issue; they never did on me.

Doctor is going to ask about how often you are having sex, any changes in diet, are you having more forceful ejaculations during intercourse, do either of you have discharge or dysuria, how long have you noticed this happening?
Consider taking in a fresh semen specimen in a clean ziplock container or glass jar, no spermicides or condom collection, masturbation sample is OK.

So I went to the doc back in May. He took a urine sample and after testing they didn't find anything. Gave me antibiotics. It seemed to clear up even before I started the treatment so I doubt it was anything bacterial. Haven't really had an issue since.

Apparently similar symptoms can occur due to my issue with the subclinical fracture/Peryonie's.

It also might have been my acid reflux/GERD or just not ejaculating enough.

I do wish my doc had been more thorough and asked the questions you did.
