Testosterone - the Fountain of Youth for me!

Post by Gandalf »

So, I started on TRT back when I was 47 (I’m now 64 and just applied for Medicare, so I guess that makes me old! ). A month and a half ago, my DW and I moved to a new area where I’m pastoring at a new church, which has been intense with lots of challenges. Yesterday, I had lunch with a young man who runs our sound and tech areas. We were talking and he remarked how he couldn’t believe I was 64. I asked him how old he had thought I was, and he said I looked 47! So, maybe the T is my fountain of youth? I don’t know, but here are the benefits I have gained from being on TRT (I use a cream that I apply two pumps of to my shoulders each day):

1. More energy and motivation. Sure, I’m getting older and slowing down some, but the T literally keeps me going every day. As soon as I apply it, I can feel it working. My wife has watched my eyes brighten and see the change in my countenance after applying it. She has been amazed at how quickly it works for me (and no, it’s not a placebo effect, it’s very real!).
2. Mental acuity. My concentration and ability to tackle problems is much greater on the T. Things that would have paralyzed me before I can now muscle through and solve. My mind is sharper and clearer. Before I started, I was suffering from what I can only describe as a “brain fog”. As soon as I started on TRT, that lifted and I could think again!
3. Healing power. I simply do not get sick like I used to, and if I catch a cold or virus, my body’s ability to fight it off is demonstrably greater than before. I also credit my TRT for helping me heal faster and better after my open heart surgery when I was 50.
4. Sex drive. I’ve always had a high drive, of course, but the T has helped keep it that way as I’ve gotten older. The one thing it has not done is helped with my ED. But that problem is due to circulation issues primarily. I compensate for that with penile injection therapy that gives me reliable erections when I want them.

So, in short, guys, if you’re sensing something is wrong in your body, don’t wait to get your T levels checked, and don’t just fall for the line that your levels are in the “normal” range. When I first had them checked at 47, my level was around 200, which was considered low normal, so I had to beg my doctor to let me try TRT. My levels now run in the 700s, and the difference is amazing!
