Goopa,

You might want to check on injecting more often. I started off with a monthly injection. Felt good for a week and bad the next 3 weeks. The half-life of Testosterone is pretty short. More frequent injections reduce the peaks and valleys and level out your T levels.

ExcelMale is a good website with some very knowledgeable people on it.

Best wishes on your HRT journey!

Been using some form of testosterone for over 20 years. Initially used injection but been using rub on gel for decades. Testosterone levels checked by my Endocrinologist and adjusted annually.

We are using Bio Identical Hormone Replacement as a Couple

Im on Progesterone, 1 oral eves
Testosterone Cream apply 2 clicks daily it says but I do half a click because my libido is so high already I dont need as much of it. So I tapered it back down as I was walking around like a teenage boy on a full dose to where I couldnt even think about anything else.

My husband is using Testosterone Cream daily, twice a day application

We are both very happy! We are using a practice that this is their specialty, found it via a link in Suzanne Sommers book on aging and hormones.

We pay for the service meaning we can contact them at any time, have a monthly fee, and we have labs done around twice a yr to monitor and check in with the Dr via phone, its all by phone and online now. I only went in for the initial consult.

If I ever notice any changes Im encouraged to call or use their online system that keeps all my info, and has a messaging system.

I am 67. I’ve been on 200ml injections for over ten years. I injected every ten days until last month when my dr saw my testosterone number hit 951. He now has me on fourteen day shots. My red blood cell count got too high. But I’m still getting use to the change. I’m retired but very active in my life.

For those of you who’s blood counts have gone up, go donate a pint of blood. That will help lower your counts. I’ve been on HRT for well over 10 years and that’s what I’ve been advised to do.

This drives me crazy when I see doctors prescribing ineffective regimes like this. Is he monitoring your estrogen levels? Do you know what your estrogen levels are?

Testosterone injections work best when the frequency is at least once a week. More than once a week is better for multiple reasons.

More frequent injections using a lower dose will have very different results from infrequent injections of a higher dose. The higher dose schedule will cause spikes in testosterone levels which will cause more conversion to estrogen and also increase red blood cell counts more. Your problem with high red blood cell counts may not be an issue with the lower dose schedule. Cookiej36 is correct about blood donations. A blood donation would be a much better than reducing your injections to every 14 days.

Does your doctor require you to go to his office for your shots? Or do you do them yourself? I'd highly recommend looking into injecting a lower dose more frequently.

The injections have worked fine for me over the years. Just recently have my testosterone levels gone up. My wife gives me my injections. I’m now going every fourteen days verses ten in hopes the levels get normal.
