Newest protocols call for more frequent, lower dosage injections. I inject 3 times a week after starting out with monthly injections. Some men inject daily. The more frequent injections keep your T levels more stable and also help control hematocrit levels.

Here is the thing. In the begging of December I saw my physician. He readjusted my meds and scheduled another appt in four months. So let’s see.

I have begun cream (not gel) thru Defy Medical. Age is 70. Started 9 months ago and just had my third blood test. Had an initial test prior and second 3 months in. 3 pumps in the morning after I shower and applied to the scrotum. No worries about cross contamination due to showering before any evening sex.

Initial blood test showed Total to be in low but normal range but Free was sub normal. Three months in and Free tripled to high normal. Have my next consult in a week and assuming same results as the second test. Will remain with the same application and method. Highly doubt I would go to injections due to current easy application and results. Also not comfortable with injecting and doubt the wife would approve.

Reason for starting is reading about heart, cognitive and skeletal health benefits with TRT for older men. Has improved libido, gym results, physical appearance and sleep.

Defy is a great place to start TRT. I was with them for a few years but the twice a year blood tests and consult fees got to be too much when I retired. My CNP does TRT and we have basically kept the same routine that I got dialed in at with Defy. Injections are easy if you do SubQ. I use insulin syringes and you almost never feel it. Good luck!
