If you consider Playboy or National Geographic showing boobs is porn. It cetainly is not.

I probably was 13-14 when I saw the sex acts. I guess I was puzzled or curious. Porn is mostly like other things that people enjoy and do not want to stop using, not sure that qualifies as an addiction. We are programmed to respond to seeing some things. But any real attempt to not use it is almost always successful. Never thought it was very entertaining. I found Romantic novels with sex descriptions more offensive than pictures. But maybe the visual is more of a guy thing. I suppose the more sheltered you are raised the more vulnerable you are.

Why would you think Playboy is not porn? The whole purpose of the branding was and still is for sexualising the female body. The main audience was/is male... and for what purpose, if not for sexual ideation/fantasy/porn?

I just think showing a breast is not that big a deal. In fact if men can go topless, it should be ok for women. From what I know of the magazine and the couple times I read the articles, it was classier than other magazines of that time. But I get your point of the idealizing fantasy. The difference of women being sexual if they want to be but not sexualized by others. I guess I just think of porn as something far more involved in sex then a nipple.

I don't remember *seeing* pornographic material until seeing some sex scenes in movies in college. As far as "actual" porn i've not seen any really.

I was introduced to sexting when I was about 13 though, playing an online game and I ended up talking to some guys. I just kind of followed along with what they were saying and didn't realize where it was leading at the time until it got there. Then I thought it was interesting how it would make me feel and how much "power" I felt over their excitement when I added anything to the conversation, so I participated more in it a couple times before realizing it was probably something I shouldn't be involved in and blocking the accounts.

At 14 my older sister passed along a teen romance book that had pretty in-depth sex scenes in it. I got interested and continued seeking them out for a few years until I got to college and stopped reading outside of academic books for the most part, and then I intentionally switched from watching romance movies or reading that genre.

Incredibly, I saw my first nude women at my dad’s secretary’s (and husband’s) lake house. I was about 13 (about 1970) and my two little brothers and I had been invited to the lake for the weekend. And mom and dad came later to pick us up on Sunday afternoon. My parents were in the adjacent kitchen and my brothers and I were sitting on a couch waiting to go home. There was a stack of magazines on a coffee table – we randomly opened one lower in the stack – it was a “Girls of Playboy” special edition. It was filled with full-page photos of naked, big-breasted women. I was in shock – as in, “What am I seeing???!!! Mom walked over to see what we were so mesmerized at (and likely, kind of hiding from view) and saw what we were looking at – I think she took it and quickly put it back in the stack. She must have been in even greater shock. The owners of the lake house were childless and probably in their 50s. I KNOW my mom had never seen such photos. I always wondered what did she say to my dad? What did dad say to his secretary?

Later, teen years, all manner of kids had Playboys, etc. they had bought or found. But once I was of driving age (16), a few pals and I went to an outdoor X-rated drive-in. So crazy, there were about two of them in my city, each located not far from suburban neighborhoods. And they used very bright spotlights aimed at strategic places (these places mostly had high walls surrounding them) so no one driving by could see the movie. So, here I am, just a virgin kid, knew next to nothing about sex, and suddenly, as we’re driving in, and there, on a 50-foot screen, a closeup of a naked woman going down on a guy – very graphic, he’s moaning away. With rather thin plot and character development, it was one BJ after another, intercourse in many crazy ways. I remember thinking that only in my wildest imagination would I ever experience such acts myself. I didn’t even know what horny meant until I saw that. And what a distortion of sexuality for my young mind to take in! It did something powerful to me! What a mind-blower that night was!

But that was the ‘70s, sexual stuff was all over! For a long time, convenience stores carried Penthouse and far-cruder mags – initially, not even in plastic. For whatever reasons, it seems chain convenience stores no longer carry these. But the one massive difference for kids today is, back then, you had to seek stuff out – buy or find a mag, go to a porn theater or drive-in. And most kids just encountered still nude photos in mags (most not hard core), or occasionally, in a movie. Bit later, VCRs changed everything – way before porn was on cable. But now, just an internet connection will bring young eyes things many married people never see! With my boys, I realized early on that I would not be able to prevent them from finding a way to see such things. So, I just explained to them why porn should be avoided, it’s spiritual dangers, that God doesn’t want them looking at these grand distortions of our God-given sexuality, or naked images of women that are not their wife. I really feel for what kids today must navigate.

The definition of porn may be needed here. Also, the younger a boy is that sees pics of nude women, the more damage is done.
My dads office was in ship repair and all the foreman's offices and even the mobile offices had Playboy calendars on the wall, on the desk under the desk-glass partition, in a stand-up cardboard calendar, etc. All pics fully nude, smiling and the next month, another woman.
My father had a stack of just Playboy magazines AND my mother bought his Playboy magazines at the grocery store. We would be checking out the groceries and she would say, "Oh, and a Playboy too please, for my husband." The clerk, usually a man who was overly friendly to my mom, would take one from under the register, begin paging through it before tossing it into the bag. Then it would eventually go to the stack next to my parents bed. My brother and I (both age 14 and older) got into them frequently when my parents were gone. We just paged through them and went on to other things. At 15, I worked for that same grocery store and the clerk allowed me to purchase one every month for the duration of my employment there.
Upon meeting and courting my wife, we took all of my Playboys at my parents house and burned them in the fireplace. As we did this, my wife held up a particular centerfold and says,"you like this?" Perplexed at the question (duh?) I said, "yeah?"
The damage to me did not stop there. The devil is cunning. Do not be deceived.
Also, topless pics of women may not be porn but it could trigger a young male to seek more.
Porn is both soft and hard. Obviously hard porn can be worse but until a young male (10 up to 18 or 20?) matures, any nude pics can negatively affect him. And evil spirits come with the material. Demons don't need cell phones to call other demons.

When I was 16, I saw a single photo from Playboy, and thought, "If that was OK for me to look at, I would have seen mother do it, and I hadn't, so don't look at it." I never saw another nude photo until I was 19, and never saw even a short pornography video until I was probably 40. I was never attracted to it, I guess, because I always saw the videos as hideous, circus side-show people doing vulgar things.

I never was into what would be considered full-on porn. The few instances where I very briefly witnessed porn, it was not desired and I immediately clicked away. For me, the desire was for more "cheesecake" things like bikini, lingerie, and sometimes nude photos. I think I started with that around 14-15 or so. And erotica. With the latter, I consumed a lot, and there were a few really vile things that I read. I began reading erotica a bit later, maybe at 17 or 18 or so. Hated that I read it, still did it. Same with the photos and videos I'd look at.
