What were your habits before marriage?

I dont know what year it was that I "happened upon" masturbation....I had played with my erection for all of my years, but this one day it suddenly changed. I would guess I was 12, or maybe 13. What was scary at first became highly pleasurable and fun. In those years I did it daily, and sometimes 4X per day. As I went thru college and professional training, it tapered back, but was probably never less than 4X per week, and often would be more.

Seriously, though. @AlwaysThankful, I'm also high drive most of the time, except for the few days to a week before my period. It was about daily for me in adolescence as well. There's such a wide range of what normal is that I've learned to let go of the idea of normalcy altogether.

Slightly off topic, but I had part of my thyroid gland surgically removed 10+ years ago. A major post operative concern with a thyroidectomy is that the surgeon doesn't often know if she has inadvertently removed the parathyroid glands with the thyroid. The reason why is not only that the glands are small, but because they are in a different location entirely in each patient. They have to monitor the patient in post op for symptoms of removal because they just don't know. That just blew my mind, that we are all so different in that part of our anatomy that even a world class surgeon struggles with it.

From everything I read, our sex drives and anatomy are as different as the location of our parathyroid glands. Wide range of normal.

I suppose this is very true! Normal does not exist. Having a high sex drive can be great, but it can feel like a curse when your spouse doesn't. Honestly I feel sometimes like our marriage is a cruel joke. We both had very high drives before marriage and struggled to stay pure, but after marriage we've never been in sync. He was still incredibly high, while I was incredibly low. And now we've flip-flopped. Sigh.

Interestingly, I was just thinking of posting this same question, glad to see all these results. Before marriage, I was generally daily, but rarely if ever more than once a day. About the only thing that would keep me from daily would be traveling where I didn't have privacy. I didn't use anything but my hand or a sock, either draped over or with my penis inside the sock.
